About the Michigan Business Education Association (MBEA)

The Michigan Business Education Association (MBEA) is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in business education across the state of Michigan. Since its founding in 1936, MBEA has served as the leading voice for business educators, advocating for high standards, providing meaningful professional development, and fostering a statewide network of educators, administrators, and industry partners.

Our Mission

MBEA’s mission is to advance business education by supporting educators in delivering high-quality instruction that prepares students for success in the modern workforce. We believe that business education is vital to the economic development of Michigan, and we work to ensure that students are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary for lifelong success in business, entrepreneurship, and related fields.

Partnerships and Collaboration

MBEA works in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education, national organizations such as the National Business Education Association (NBEA), and a wide network of educational institutions to shape policy, promote standards, and enhance teaching practices.

We also collaborate with business and industry partners to ensure our curriculum remains aligned with the real-world demands of today’s workforce, helping to bridge the gap between the classroom and career.
